Cloud hosting firms hit by devastating ransomware attack

Danish cloud hosting firms CloudNordic and Azero – both owned by Certiqa Holdings – have been hit by a devastating ransomware attack.

As well as losing almost all of their customer data (as stated by CloudNordic – “Most Customers have lost all of their data”), the hosts have been physically locked out of their own servers.

I cannot overstate exactly how damaging this will be for both of these firms but, more importantly, for their customers considering the amount of data that has likely been exfiltrated as part of this devastating attack; not to mention the potential fines if customers data is used for nefarious ends.

Doubtless, more information will be available as trhis story evolves, as which point I will update this article.
